Shinjeong Road Sweeper

Shinjeong 6M³ runway sweeper(RS08R)

1. General description

 

1-1 Features

 

The runway sweeper vehicle is used for the cleaning of runway, taxiway exclusively. It's capable of sucking gravel, sands, empty bottles, aluminum cans and other coarse things on the middle and side of runway completely without dispersion of dust. The vacuum sweeper superstructure is on the top of a truck chassis cab. Sweeper superstructure contains a vacuum suction device (including blower), sweeping system, water spray system and suction system with castor wheels. All superstructure on the truck chassis is operated by using the switches on the control panel in the driver's cabin and some parts of operation can be made by using the manual levers located on the side of vehicle under the hopper as needed.

2-2 Vacuum suction device

 

1) Aux. engine

 

a. Purpose : for driving of a turbo blower, a hydraulic pump and a water pump

b. Type : 4 cycle diesel engine, water cooled

c. Number of cylinder : 6

d. Output : more than 200Kw

e. R.P.M control device

  According to the condition of roads, auxiliary engine RPM can be accelerated to suck a lot of particles, mud and sands...etc, completely.

 

2) Blower

 

a. Blowing capacity : 567 M³ /min

b. Vacuum rating : -1,000mmAq

c. Material of fan : stainless steel

d. Driving method : by clutch and v-belts connected to Aux. Engine

 

3) Suction system

 

a. Rear pick up head width : 2286mm

b. Inside diameter of suction hose : φ250mm x 1000mm

c. Material of suction hose : flexible rubber hose reinforced steel wire

d. In case of sucking large particles, a lot of mud and sands, the pneumatic cylinder is acted manually and open up the mouth of a suction nozzle to allow sucking completely.

 

2-3 Sweeping system

 

1) Control method of brushes :

 

Controlled by solenoid valves in connection with pneumatic cylinders and hydraulic motors, and brush's rotation is variable speed. All control switches are located on the control panel in the driver's cabin

 

2) Side brush

 

a. Size : φ900mm x 250mm

b. Quantity : both side (left 1ea, right 1ea)

c. Driving method : by hydraulic motor

d. Material of brush : durable steel bar

e. Side brushes are capable of lifting, lowering and swiveling left and right by solenoid valve in connection with pneumatic pressure and hydraulic circuit for rotating.

f. Method of impact protection : by pressure control of pneumatic cylinder

g. Brush angle control device, angle of side brush on the right is adjusted, in case of it's need.

 

3) Roller brush

 

a. Size of brush : 2,200mm x φ400mm

b. Quantity : 1ea

c. Turning : 0 - 120 rpm

d. Driving method : by hydraulic motor

e. Material of brush : durable synthesis plastic

f. Control method : be possible to move up and down and turn left and right by solenoid valve in connection with pneumatic pressure.

 

2-4 Debris container

 

1) Air volume capacity : 6M³

2) Dumping angle : 50 degree

3) Dumping method : by hydraulic cylinder in connection with hydraulic pump connected by U-joint with transmission P.T.O When repairing, a safety valve is installed to prevent debris container fall for a driver's safety Also be capable of dumping to throw dusts away without aux. engine starting.

4) Internal structure Installed screen for filtering dusts. Be separated completely without dispersion of dusts because of the air circulates in a form of cyclone in debris container.

5) Rear door opening method : by hydraulic cylinder

 

2-5 Water spray system

 

1) Water tank capacity : 2,000 liter

2) Material of water tank : stainless steel

3) Spray nozzle : Spray nozzles are installed on the side brushes, roller brush and suction nozzle to protect scattering of the dusts.

4) Water pump a. Driving method : V-belt driving by Aux. engine b. Water pump pressure : 7 bar

5) Water filter is installed on water line to protect blocking of spray nozzles and break down of water pump. Also an alarm system is installed to warn the water in a tank running out

6) Water control valve specially assembled with pneumatic cylinders is operated easily without trouble

 

2-6 Hydraulic system

 

1) Two way driving method of hydraulic pump

         a. By Aux. engine

         b. By transmission P.T.O of vehicle

2) Even though Aux. engine fail, be capable of dumping by hydraulic pump in connection with transmission P.T.O for repairing

3) Double acting hydraulic cylinder allows to dump for throwing away a lot of wastes in the container even on the inclined load

4) Hydraulic solenoid valves In case of hydraulic solenoid valves are out of order, be possible to use one more by replacing of electric wiring instead of new one.

5) Hydraulic proportional valve Hyd' control valve to operate hopper-dumping, door-opening and locking is capable of controlling by switches on the panel in connection with hydraulic solenoid valve, also can operate by using the manual levers under hopper of vehicle side as needed

 

2-7 Electrical system

 

1) Relay & fuse box with air solenoid manifold

2) Unique system connectors Hydraulic and electrical system connectors designed for long life and easy service ability. Electric system includes waterproof snap-together connectors and color-coded wires for quick location during maintenance

3) Clearly arranged control panel

 

2-8 Others

 

1) Max. sweeping width : 3,450 mm

2) Auxiliary engine overheat, automatic shutdown

3) Air conditioning and cassette AM/FM radio are installed inside of driver's cabin

4) Installed the rear view mirror to be easy observation of side brushes and suction nozzles when sweeping

5) The round shape yellow rotating beacon (Q'ty : 1ea) is installed on the top of collector body and over 50W siren amplifier is installed in driver's cabin
